Hello, everyone! Just a friendly note that our website is down for the next little bit while we migrate to a new host. You'll still be able to see all of our new art on social media in the meantime!

Hello!

I've got to say it's felt pretty neat posting on this account again. For those of you that weren't aware, Adam and I decided to give making comics a real chance last fall. We quit our jobs and set up TricksyWizard.com. And what a year (so far)! We've met great people, we're producing more comics and content than ever before, and we're happy. We're finally doing what we love for a living.

Here's the interesting part of that: We have no idea what we're doing. Our plans in terms of upload schedule and where we post have fluctuated a couple of times. Initially we thought we'd just focus on reddit and google ad sense for our site. However, the ads don't really work with the way we set up out site on square. We'd thought of doing a Patreon before, and if site ads were going to be such a headache anyway, why not just focus on Patreon instead? So, without the burden of needing site hits to make our money, we've reevaluated.

We realized that we don't need to localize where we post to just our website. As long as the name shows up on all of our comics, commissions, and whatnot, it's probably better to just post, well, everywhere, right? More eyes will see our stuff and maybe somebody or two somebodies will even remember our name. So we splurged for the DA core account and changed the name to Tricksy Wizard, got Instagram and Tumblr too. We'll post our backlog here probably 2 times a week until the DA account gets caught up with the website. Until we get caught up, if you want to see the newest stuff we're working on, you can find it at TricksyWizard.com.

Additionally, we have a cool new project. We're still doing weekly joke strips about video games and weird marriage stuff and whatnot, but we also have a fledgling graphic novel called "Alive, Alive Oh!". It's been a labor of love scripting and thumb nailing it for the past few years. Now we're releasing pages from it as a webcomic. A new page goes up every Monday (usually in the evening). Our goal is to get AAO to two pages a week very soon.

Anyway, the gist is that we're delighted to be back. It's so cool that you guys stuck around. We're excited to share our stuff with you and, hopefully, make you laugh a little. If you want to see our entire backlog you can head over to TricksyWizard.com. We've got all of our comics there, all pages of AAO, a gallery of digital tabletop tokens and maps, and our commission info.

Hello, beautiful people! We apologize for the cobwebs.

It's been a long time. We've been away for a year, and that's no good.

Want to know what is good, though? We're trying to turn this wacky dream into a living. That's right! This old operation is getting a face lift with a shiny new name, website, schedule, tabletop gaming assets, and a long-form narrative project to boot (coming this December)!

You can now find us at www.tricksywizard.com and TricksyWizard on Twitter, Facebook, and Patreon. We will be uploading comics weekly (I know, right?!), every Wednesday at noon EST. A new tabletop character token will come out every Saturday (these are for you to use and enjoy! Please spread the word. The world is better with more DnD).

The only bummer is that this means we are no longer going to be using Deviant Art to post comics. We are so thankful for the DA community. It's where Adam got his start posting comics online. We did our first commission projects here. We wouldn't have been able to make this leap to the next step without you.

We really hope you check in with us every Wednesday for a new comic and the other projects coming down the line. It'd be cool to keep laughing with you all. Also, if you'd like even MORE content, it'd be amazing if you'd consider donating to our Patreon! There are some fun rewards waiting for you, if you'd like to swing by!

We'll be posting our first new comic this Wednesday on tricksywizard.com and Deviant Art. This will be our final upload on this account.

Thank you all for everything, and we'll see you on Wednesday!

Love,

Erin and Adam

Summer Updates

2 min read
So, in case anyone was wondering, the Shy Guy comic I just uploaded was, in fact, originally intended to be posted around the release of Mario Kart 8. Then life happened, and all of a sudden it was late June, and I was criminally behind again. Funny how a day or two without drawing can spiral so easily into a much longer period...Let this be a lesson to me, I guess.

But hey, E3 was fun! I'm already obsessed with Splatoon and we're nowhere near release yet. And Star Fox? Yesssssss.

And thanks, Pokemon Subreddit, for that huge traffic boost over the last couple days. It's the Thought That Counts was a ton of fun to make, and I'm glad it got such a positive response!

Anyway, there are a few other comics in the pipeline, and I'm not planning on taking a year with them, so be on the lookout for those in the coming weeks!

By the way, your hair looks fantastic today. Is that product? Or are you just naturally radiant? My my.

Cheers.

Well, the threshold has been crossed. Over a million total hits across my whole gallery, and counting! That's incredible. I mean, that's really cool. And honestly, it's also very humbling. Seriously, I drew a series of pictures of a Pokemon getting bitch-slapped, and this somehow merited over a hundred thousand views? Makes me happy, that's for damn sure. I just don't know what to say other than thank you, sincerely, to everybody who watches, favorites, comments on or just in general likes my comics. Because the fact that there are a bunch of you who saw Mario cosplaying Elsa from Frozen and thought, "yeah, this was a good use of my time"? That shit is bananas, and I love it. Also you. I love you. You've given me the confidence to keep doing what I love to do, every day, and the drive to keep getting better at it. And while I'm at it, here's to my fiancée, Erin, for basically giving me all of my jokes. Please keep doing that. I fear I might be terribly unfunny without you.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go sit on the floor and try to comprehend what a million of something even looks like.
Thanks, again!
